In the recent report ‘AI-enabled IoT video analytics: functions and architecture’ (September, 2025) Transforma Insights examined the key trends that are driving the increased adoption of IoT use cases based on AI-enabled video cameras, the emerging market dynamics, and the elements of propositions.
In this report we briefly profile 142 companies that feature most prominently in the discussion of remote video analytics, particularly in scenarios where the functionality might replace IoT sensors. The aim of the report is to provide a wide view of the make-up of the suppliers in this emerging market. It does not represent an exhaustive list of all companies in the market.
With the convergence of AI and IoT, the opportunities for AI-enabled IoT video analytics are growing significantly, due to business benefits that can be achieved with applying increasingly advanced analytics techniques and computer vision models to video feeds, either at the edge or in the cloud. The earliest adoption is in security and surveillance applications, but with growing demand in many other sectors including retail, manufacturing, and construction.
Various providers of video analytics are offering video analytics solutions that can be integrated with an end-user’s existing brownfield camera infrastructure. This model provides multiple benefits to end-users by offering flexibility while also lowering the barrier to adoption, since the need for additional hardware which would increase the overall cost of the solution is reduced. In other cases, companies are deploying greenfield specialist full-stack solutions comprising cameras, edge processing, Video Management Systems (VMSs), and AI analytics. And a further emerging model involves deploying generic cameras and applying increasingly powerful computer vision models to video feeds to provide the necessary application-specific capabilities. In many cases, the roll-outs are often supported by deployment, integration, and model training services.
In many cases, companies addressing the video analytics space will perform a range of functions. For instance, companies selling surveillance systems will often span cameras, Video Management System, and some level of pre-configured video analytics.
